Note Design Studio strives for the perfect fusion of practicality and aesthetics in the creation of the Sake Tables. Drawing inspiration from the traditional Japanese Masu cup—a square wooden vessel typically used for consuming sake—the designers have seamlessly integrated this classic element with contemporary design language, resulting in a piece of furniture that is as functional in storage as it is rich in beauty.

The Sake Tables feature an elegant square base, topped with a detachable circular tray. This tray serves not only as a tabletop but also as a subtle storage space.

我们使用高质量的实心橡木或白蜡木，有多种颜色选择，包括白橡木、烟熏橡木、墨黑白蜡木和靛蓝白蜡木。这些颜色不仅增强了家具的视觉效果，也使其能够融入不同的室内环境。

We utilize high-quality solid oak or ash wood, offering a variety of color options including white oak, smoked oak, ink-black ash, and indigo ash. These colors not only enhance the visual appeal of the furniture but also allow it to blend seamlessly into different interior environments.

Upon close examination, you’ll discover that in the crafting process, the table legs are designed with an outward tilt, which bolsters stability and imparts a visually lightweight appearance.

Sake Tables 的设计汲取自日本传统 Masu 杯之精髓，该杯乃盛放清酒之方形木制器皿。Note Design Studio 将此方形盒子理念巧妙融入桌体设计，再以圆形托盘作为桌面，创造出独特而和谐的对比美感。此设计不仅在视觉层面引人入胜，更兼具实用性。轻取下托盘，即显露出下方的储藏空间。

The design of the Sake Tables is inspired by the traditional Japanese Masu cup, a square wooden box used for drinking sake. Note Design Studio has integrated the concept of this square box into the main body of the table, complemented by a circular tray as the tabletop, creating a unique sense of contrast and harmony. This design is not only visually striking but also highly functional. The tray can be easily removed to reveal the storage space below.

The illustrated Sake coffee table, crafted from American white oak with a natural white finish, seamlessly integrates with the surrounding space shown in the image, reflecting a harmonious aesthetic. The high-quality wood’s natural grain adds warmth and simplicity to the environment. The clever contrast between the circular tray and the square base not only balances the visual appeal but also enhances practicality. The roundness of the tray complements the stability of the square base, highlighting the exquisite harmony of the design, thereby elevating the overall spatial aesthetics and infusing every detail with a sense of artistry.

最初发端于奈良时代，枡初为量器之用，度量米粒、酱油及佳酿。历经岁月流转，枡不仅保留了其实用之质，更升华为吉祥昌盛之象征，广泛见于各类仪式与庆典之中。

Masu,originally used as a measuring tool for rice, soy sauce, and sake, dates back to the Nara period. Over time, it evolved into a symbol of good fortune and prosperity, widely used in various ceremonies and celebrations.

枡杯在不饮酒情况下也具备多种用途：枡可用来装豆，特别是在节分节期间；可用来准确测量米的量；可以用于盛装料理或甜点；可用于收纳文具或小物件；可用作小型植物的花盆；将手机放入枡中，利用其共鸣效果放大音量。

Even when abstaining from alcohol,serves a variety of purposes:It can be used for holding beans, especially during the Setsubun festival; for accurately measuring volumes of rice; for containing dishes or desserts; for storing stationery or small items; it can function as a plant pot for small plants; by placing a mobile phone inside the Masu, one can utilize its resonant effect to amplify the sound volume.

枡杯不仅具有实用性，还承载着丰富的文化意义。在日本文化中，Masu 象征着好运和繁荣。这主要源于“枡”的发音与日语中表示“增长”或“增加”的动词相同，因此被认为饮用枡杯中的酒可以带来好运。

Masu cups offer not only practicality but also carry profound cultural significance. In Japanese culture, they symbolize good fortune and prosperity. This is primarily because the word “Masu” shares its pronunciation with Japanese verbs that mean “to increase” or “to grow,” leading to the belief that drinking from a Masu cup can bring good luck.
